Hi [First Name], here's what's happening at Henderson Libraries!

80 Years of Henderson Libraries!

One Book, One Henderson

Did you know we turned 80 this year? In 1944, Henderson District Public Libraries was officially founded to help support the newly forming Henderson School District. We opened our first library on August 1, 1946 off Atlantic Avenue in (now) Downtown Henderson. Our first Summer Reading Program took place in 1950, and by 1958, our book circulation reached over 33,000 books as Henderson's population hit 17,000 residents!

Since then, we have become our own special taxing district that is governed by an appointed Board of Trustees and funded by a portion of consolidated and property taxes. While we are not a department of the City of Henderson, we are glad to partner with them on various programs and events.

We have opened, closed, moved, and renovated numerous locations throughout Henderson, and we currently operate five awesome libraries and a very cool mobile outreach truck.

We're so proud to be such a special part of the Henderson community and will continue to evolve to best serve our population!
