Here's what's happening at Henderson Libraries!

A Message from Our Executive Director

Happy New Year!

As we begin 2026, I look forward to the new year and what is to come. With the new year, I also like to reflect on the highlights of the past year, and I’d love to share those highlights with you:

Spatial Assessment – We worked with TSK Architects and our community to complete a spatial assessment in support of our strategic priority to Plan and Improve Spaces to Meet Needs. We will use this plan to prioritize updates to our buildings over the coming years. You can view the plan here.
We shared some great programs - Including author visits with Yangsze Choo for our One Book One Henderson read and Jamar Nicholas as part of the APPLE (All People Promoting Literacy Efforts) Partnership. We enjoyed reading with you all for our Summer Reading Challenge. And we saw many of you out in the community as Leo, our Outreach Truck, made scheduled stops and visited special events throughout the community.
Las Vegas Raiders Library Cards - Henderson Libraries was excited to celebrate National Library Week in April with the Las Vegas Raiders. We partnered to provide library users with a new Las Vegas Raiders-branded library card!

As we look ahead to 2026 Henderson Libraries will continue to serve our community with our strategic priorities in mind. We will be welcoming you into our buildings, greeting you in the community, and meeting you online with our digital services.

Join us for our Kids Clothing Swap!

From January 31st to February 5th, bring in plastic grocery bags of gently used kid's clothes to the James I. Gibson Library. For every bag you bring you will get a ticket to get a bag of clothes at our clothing swap on February 7th. Limit of 5 bags per household.

The clothes must be clean (no stains, tears, missing zippers, etc.) No shoes, costumes, undergarments, socks, or bathing suits. Ages newborn to 17.
